Social Events
In addition to the regular workshop program, we are pleased to provide several evening social events.
Tuesday, August 20th, 7:00 pm
Organ Concert at the Church of the Blessed Sacrament and Opening Dinner
Dr. Gregory D'Agostino will perform various organ pieces followed by a reception
at the nearby Sambuca Restaurant.

Walking
Walk west along 69th Street until you enter Central Park. Continue straight across
the park until you exit at 69th and Central Park West. Turn right onto Central Park
West, then left onto West 71st Street. The church will be on your left.

Public Transit
Board the M72 crosstown bus on the corner of 5th Avenue and East 69th Street toward
West Side Freedom Pl. Exit the bus at 72nd Street and Columbus Ave. Walk one block
south along Columbus Avenue and then turn right onto 71st Street. The church will
be on your left.

Walk east along West 71st Street towards Columbus Avenue. Turn left onto Columbus

Dinner at the Central Park Boathouse
Directions to the Central Park Boathouse from Hunter College
East 72nd Street and Park Drive North
Walking
From Park Avenue, turn left onto East 69th Street. Walk along East 69th Street until
you enter Central Park at Fifth Avenue. Take the first right. Continue walking along
the path until you cross Terrace Drive, then bear left. The Boathouse is located
between the Lake and East Drive.

Dinner Cruise to view the Manhattan skyline
Directions to The Water Club -- Boat Cruise from Hunter College
500 East 30th Street (near FDR Drive)
Shuttle Buses
Shuttle buses will be provided for this event. The buses are from Metropolitan Shuttle. They will leave starting at 6 pm from the west side of Lexington Avenue between 68th and 69th streets. After the cruise at 10:30 pm, the buses will be at the dock to pick up attendees.
Public Transit
Walk to the 6 train subway stop on Lexington Avenue between 68th and 69th Street.
Take the 6 to the 33rd Street stop. Walk east along East 34th Street until you reach
the FDR Drive. Cross the FDR and then walk south along the East River Esplanade.
The Water Club will be on your left.

Pre-theater Dinner in the Hunter College Faculty Dining Room
Enjoy a pre-theater dinner while overlooking Manhattan. The faculty dining room is just one floor above the main conference rooms in the Hunter College West Building. (Note booking/paying for theater tickets is the responsibility of the meeting attendee).
